1994 Ford Explorer Starting

After sitting for a few hours or days, the engine has to spin for several seconds before it starts. Once it starts and runs, subsequent starts are good. Let it sit a few hours, and it has to spin several seconds again before it starts.

IT sounds like the fuel pressure is dropping off when it sits. What I need you to do is check fuel pump pressure and then pressure drop off. Here is a how to for checking.
