I put a new cam and crank positioning sensors on my car because it shutdown on me. After I put them on it started up, it ran a little at first then smoothed out. I let it warm up some it seemed okay. Before I replaced the sensors the check engine light was on, but it ran fine. After I replaced the sensors, the light went out. I drove it down the road and it did the same thing. The engine shut down and wouldn't start, it acts like it's not getting gas. It has gas in it. I really don't know what to do. If you have an idea as to what the problem might be, I would grateful for any suggestions. Thank you.

Sounds like we could have a failing fuel pump.

Let's start with checking the codes and see if that code that turned the light on is still there. Could have been corrected by the sensor as I think you are suspecting due to it turning off, but it may be related still. This is always the best place to start so here is a guide that will help:

Here are a couple of guides that will help with this issue as well:

However, after the codes we should check the fuel pressure and see if this is a fuel issue. If not, then we need to check for spark.

Once we know codes, fuel pressure, and if we have spark, then we will have a pretty good idea what the issue is or the direction to go.

Thanks
