Unplug the motor and check if have power and ground if not check wiring harness in door jam

WINDOW REGULATOR & MOTOR
Removal
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove door trim panel. Ensure wiring is not in line with holes to be drilled in door inner panel. Disconnect wiring connector.
Using a 1/2" (12.7 mm) drill bit, drill 2 holes in door trim shield at drill dimples located opposite 2 unexposed motor drive retainer screws. Remove 3 motor mounted retainer screws, using 2 drill holes and existing larger hole access to screw heads.
Push window regulator and motor toward outside sheet metal to disengage from gear. After window regulator and motor are disengaged, prop glass in full up position. Remove window regulator and motor from inside door.
Installation
To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten retaining screws to 50-85 INCH lbs. (5.6-9.6 N.M). Install 2 pieces of Pressure Sensitive Waterproof Tape (D6AZ-19627-A) or equivalent over drilled holes. Connect wiring and negative battery cable.
Remove glass prop, and check glass operation. Ensure drain holes are open. Install door trim panel.

My driver side power window is giving me fits. It seems to have its own mind. It works great when it wants to. I have checked power and it is getting power to window motor. When I remove door panel and spray WD40 on wires where they attach to the motor the window begins to work. After a period of time though it will again start to work when it pleases. I think motor pobably has a bad connection. Can this be fixed or is it better off replacing the motor. Also just how difficult is this as I am considering a mechcanic for the repair.

The power window motor may be the cause but have the circuit checked. There are solenoid curcuits on each window in case one of the windows don't work the others will. It does take someone with some mechanical ability to get the motor out and check it. In the motor just a little dirt between the brushes can cause the motor to work speratically.

Hi, the power windows do not operate. I checked for voltage at the driver door master switch in reference to chassis ground, there was no Volts present. I have voltage to my door locks and side view mirrors. The 20A fuse is good in Engine Comp Fuse/relay box. I don't know where to start looking for the GEM, how to change it.
My wiper also, but I'm not sure if it's related. I found voltage up to the motor.
Thanks, Jamie 337-515-5428

Hi Jamie,

Thank you for the donation.

The GEM, located behind center of dash, is for controlling the ground circuits so in this case is too early to worry about it.

If voltage is not available at the master switch, it could be due to a faulty accessory delay relay located under right side of dash.

Light Blue/Black wire receives power from the accessory delay relay.

Appply voltge to the Light Blue/Black wire and test if the window works.
