The PCM regulates the ignition system. The PCM supplies battery voltage to the ignition coil through the Auto Shutdown (ASD) Relay.

The PCM controls ignition timing by turning on and off a transistor in the distributor.

During the crank-start period the PCM maintains spark advance at 9 BTDC . During engine operation the following inputs determine the amount of spark advance provided by the PCM.

*Intake air temperature.
*Coolant temperature.
*Engine RPM.
*Intake manifold vacuum.

The PCM also regulates the fuel injection system.

My 1998 Stratus, 2.5L, sometimes turns the "check engine" sign on, and then the engine stops. Itdoes not happen in highway only at low revolutions or when stopped. When I lifted hood I moved the wires close to the powertrain location, there was a click and then the engine started again.
However it recurrs.

Any idea how to service? I live in Argentina and Chrysler servicing is not the same as before.

My personal mail address is as follows:

Thanks
