We put a motor in the dodge with reconditioned heads and timing chains. It will not start we already know we have spark, and fuel is good, turning over but not starting. It ran for about 20 minutes at the end before dying it started to run rough. Then died. Now it will not restart. Why?

Sounds like we may have a compression issue at this point. If we know for sure that there is fuel and spark then we need to run a compression check and find out what it is.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

Once we know that we have good compression we can take the next steps. However, I am wondering if we have a head issue that we are loosing compression or even a timing chain issues. When you replaced all this, did you install new chains?

We need to not only take the front cover off but inspect for stretch in the chain. Please see the process below on how to do that.

Let us know what you find and what questions you have.

Thanks
