Hi there,

My car “shuts off” completely when I am coming to a stop! I start lowering my gears as normal then when I go down to 2nd gear and brake gently, the car just “shuts off”.
Then when I restart there’s an extreme Rev or hum from it which makes the car cut out again?

I’m slowly down correctly, I don’t go down into 2nd gear in a fast speed etc!
I have turned off my “auto restart” feature because that seems to make the problem worse!

I brought it to a mechanic before because one time it actually wouldn’t turn back on and he said he couldn’t find anything wrong just a clogged filter somewhere and he cleaned it out. The problem stopped for a while but started again!

Okay. Couple questions. First what filter did he clean out? Next this does sound like a fuel issue as when you restart the vehicle there is additional fuel in engine and the engine naturally adds more fuel to start the vehicle so it revs real high.

So we need to check the fuel pressure when this is happening. Here is a guide on how to do that:

Then depending on what filter he cleaned out that seemed to help, I am sure we will figure this out.

However, here is another guide that will help with this issue as well:

Let us know and we can go from there. Thanks
