We crank the car get in drive to point a sometimes even cranks back to go to point b if it is a short distance. Once I try to make it crank again I have to wait an hour or so for it to crank back. Runs a little rough like it needs a tune up but then will run perfect. So confused. Please help. Codes show random misfire.

Good morning,

This sounds like the fuel pump may be providing low pressure. When this happens, the fuel will boil and you will need the car to cool down. The first step is to check the actual pressure. I attached the specs below for you. You can rent a tester at a parts store for the test.

Fuel Pressure .................... 52-59 psi

This will also account for the misfire codes as the injectors are starved for fuel.

I also attached the procedure for replacing the fuel after it is confirmed it is the actual failure.
