I drove the car through wheel deep water. Approx 1/4 mile at a stop light the car stalled since then it will crank but no start. After making sure no water in oil or cylinders I changed spark plugs. Car started right up drove it to work and back home. Since then it's back to crank no start. Also the check engine light has been on several weeks before driving through high water

Hello,

I would suggest conducting a diagnostic scan first to see what codes come up.

How to conduct a diagnostic scan:
https://www.2carpros.com/articles/can-scan-controller-area-network-easy

You can also read fault codes by bridging out the blue, 2 pin, connector.
See location on picture at the bottom, at passenger side near center console.

How to:

It is possible that any codes retrieved could point towards the non-start issue.

For basic non start fault finding look at the link below:

Hope this helps,

Cheers, Boris

Yes, I think I'm beginning to understand more and more about the troubleshooting process. My friend and I connected a scanner a couple days ago and it triggered scan codes; 0331, 0332, 0333 and 0334, cylinders misfiring. What is my next step?

I was wrong on those code numbers. Should have been 0301, 0302, 0303, 0304. Cylinders misfiring.

Hello,

These codes are misfire codes. These will only set if the engine is running.
But they do possibly point towards an ignition system issue.

My suggestion is to next check to see if there is any spark at the spark plugs.
This can be done by using a dedicated spark tester, a long screwdriver or a test light

How to use a test light:

See image below for test light sample, these can be purchased online or automotive shops.

Cheers, Boris
