Hi,

Compressor clutch does not work. I disconnected clutch cable and checked if the voltage comes from vehicle side, but it was 0 V. Something I notice is that voltage for control valve is there. System has 110 psig. I disconnected and re-connect high-side pressure switch, but it didn't work. Also, I checked fuse #3, 19, 26, but it is in good condition, so what else is potential issues.

Thank you in advance for your help

Hi,

I'm surprised you are having trouble this soon. The car is basically new. Have you contacted the dealer? It should be under warranty.

Regardless, if you confirmed the fuses are good and have power to and from then, the next thing is the smart FET which is integral in the smart junction box is either bad or it senses a problem and is preventing power to reaching the compressor.

I attached the wiring schematic below. Take a look through it and note that power to the compressor clutch is supplied via the smart FET via a white wire. The function of the smart FET system is to sense the condition of the circuit and shut off power to this circuit.

If I recall, it is integral in the SJB which would require its replacement.

So, go back to the SJB and locate the white wire and check it right at the box for power. If there is none, this is my first suspect which should be covered under warranty.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Thank you very much for your reply.

I will check that too.
Something I found is that connector located under the hood at passenger side was disconnected. I wondered it might be the reason why compressor clutch doesn’t engage?

Hi,

Did you find where it connects? Looking at the connector, it could be for a light. I can't tell for sure, but the wiring looks very light duty. Also, keep in mind there will be wiring not used. Some of the options are wired even if it doesn't come with the option itself.

Let me know.

Joe
