Truck won't start. Just cranks. When powered, I hear the fuel pump "open", or run. I sprayed starter fluid in "carb", and it started right up, then died. I had the fuel pump replaced a few yrs ago. How do I narrow down what this problem is? (I have minimal knowledge and tools for this)

Thanks

Hi there Sooner10 and TY for the doantion this is what keeps the site going.

You need to check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge to rule out the fuel pump if okay test the fuel pump relay and fuel pump and oil pressure sending unit, also for injection pulses from the injectors

Well, thanks. I stated that I had minimal knowledge and tools for this. You gave me the "generic" answer, which is way over my head. But, keep the $10.00. I just won't come back.I'm in no better shape now than I was.

If you can rent a fuel pressure gauge I'll be more gladly to walk you thru the whole process
