Engine Performance problem
1998 Chevy S-10 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 90,000 miles

The battery light on the dashboard has been on for about 5 days, but the battery gauge was right in the middle so I was waiting until payday to get a new battery. However, tonight I was driving and all the guages dropped to zero and the dashboard dimmed. I pulled over because I was freaked out. When I tried to start the truck again it would not start. What do you think is wrong, and about how much is it going to cost? Thank you in advance for your time and response.

Yeah your battery probably took a crap or your alternator is not charging the reason your dash light s all went dim is because you have no more power/battery left check batt or alternator autozone checks both for free so I would jump start it and head over there with some money for either a batteryh or alternator good luck
