I recently replaced my fuel pump in my truck about four months ago. The truck died, after letting it sit for one day it will fire up and run for about 2 hours
then die and not restart until I let it sit for awhile. When it dies there is no fuel presurre at the fuel test port and I can not here the fuel pump running when the ignition is turned on, all it does is crank. There are no dtc's either. Do I just have a bad pump? Or is there another problem?
Do you
have the same problem?

Nexgt time the fuel pump wont turn on go under and start banging on the tank while having someone turn the key. Does this cause the pump to turn on or no affect at all?

Thats what I had to do the first time my pump died but that was the origional fuel pump with 150000 miles on it. If I didnt use the updated connector with the new fuel pump but used the old connector from the original fuel would tht cause the problem of it stop working after two hours?

Ive replaced them before and the old connector wouldnt fit on a new aftermarket pump. Make sure the connector is good and tight.

Yeah, the new pump I just bought had an updated wiring harness so I cut out the old connector and reconnected it to the new harness. I let the truck idle for about two hous and it did not stop running. So hopefully this pump will fix and the one I had in their was just defective

More then likely it was corroded. Or just not tight. Common problems with age they get brittle and once disconnected never seem quite right. Let me know what hapens
