Engine Performance problem
1990 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My truck had a starter problem that I fixed and the truck ran for a while then it died when I let off the foot feed it did this twice now it just turns over but wont start, it tries but it won't start, just turns over. I can give it a little gas with foot feed and it helps but doesn't work well, just ends up backfireing through the throttle body.I've checked the fireing order and it's right. Could it not be getting enough fuel to start? Or could there be a problem in the ign. System? Thanks for all the help! P.S Forgot to say that it is a 4.3 Liter.

Pressing the throttle pedal does not give it gas. You engine is fuel injected. Pressing the pedal gives it more air---not gas. Never press the pedal when starting a fuel injected engine. Try just turning the key, without pressing the pedal. Let me know what happens.

It just turns over tries to start, when I say that I mean it sounds like the starter doesn't have as much load to pull then it goes back to sounding like it has the full load of turning the engine over. Could it be the module? I had a 88 ford escort that had it and when it went out the engine did the same thing just turned over. Thanks for the reply I app. The help!

First, check to see if you have spark. Then check to see if there is any fuel squirting out of the injecters.

It has both because one time I seen it back fire through the throttle body had a very small flame on top of the throttle plates that I blow out so I know it has to have both to do that or am I wrong

A back fire through the TB plate indicates that the timing is off. How many miles are on the engine?
