Electrical problem
1985 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have found a post buy another member that has the same issues, my 1985 S-10 pick-up does not get spark from time to time. I replaced the cap, rotor, coil and the "pick up" under the rotor. After everything I have done it still doesn't fire every time. I can go months with no problem then I can't get it started 4-6 times a day, then it will be fine for up to a month. I even went as far as replacing the "brain" (as little as it is). Can anyone help?

When it does this immediately look for battery power at the coil -could be an ignition switch problem and also check the ignition control module.

Also test the wire between the distributor and computer for short and open circuit.
