I have a 1996 Chevy Z71, pickup, 5.7 vortec, with 205,000 miles on it.
While sitting and running in a parking lot the engine just quit running, and we couldn't get it stated again, we have tested the altenator and it is good and have replaced the battery, and have checked all fuses. Anything else you can suggest please. Fuel pump was replaced about a year ago. Service engine light is on and has been since we bought the truck was told it was an O2 censer. Will turn over, just wont fire. HELP

Thanks
Thomas

The problem with ignoring the CEL is that worse repercutions may result. Aside from affecting yoiur fuel milage, it may be making troubleshooting more difficult and with a good chance of multiple problems.

It probably has lost spark or fuel. These buggers are notorious for distributer cap problems and fuel pumps.

Access the throttle body and spray in some carb cleaner or starting fluid and crank it, does it start?
This confirms or eliminates fuel needs.
