My car won't take gas, it acts like it is full, but I know there is no gas in there. This is the second time this has happened. Last time I kept trying everyday and after about 5 days it finally took gas.

Need to check your EVAP emission system. Either your purge solenoid or the check valve is not working properly.

MY 98 malibu also acts as if it has a full tank. I carry a gas can in my car with a gallon in it cos I have run out before. NEVER let it get close to E or forget about it. When I first bought it and tried to put gas in it it was acting as if it were full so I thought the gas guage was broke! So I drove it and drove it then ran out during rush hour! So When I tried to put gas in it, it would not let me, so I got in car and kept pumping the gas pedal until the line was clear. It worked and I put gas in it. If ya can't afford to fix it just pump the gas pedal while car is off and every 2 or 3 pumps turn the key to the on position but not the start position. You will hear the fuel injector
then turn off and pump again then check the line.I know your not suppose to pump a fuel injected car but desperate time. Yadda yadda.
Chevy malibu's suck! Well 98 malibus suck.
