My brake lights aren't working?

How do I go about checking the things that you suggested? I do not have a handbook to refer too!

You need a TEST LIGHT AND OR A VOLTS METER
check wiring harness
and also step on the brakes and try to move the signal switch in every possible way
and if you get a brake light most likely the switch is no good

Brakes problem

I found out I have no brake lights, but when I turn on the parking lights, they'll work. What cause this?

If the brake lights only work when the park or headlights are on then it is usually caused by a faulty wiring issue or faulty turn signal switch. Try checking your grounds from the sockets to chassis as well as the ground wiring at the headlamp and brake light switches.

If all the break lights are out could this be a sensor or a switch, if so where is it located and is it easy to replace? We have checked the fuses and the lights did work two days ago

Most likely the stop switch located high up on break pedal. May need adjusting pull term jumper lights on then switch isi it.

my brake lights dont work when I step on the brake pedal, but I noticed that when I pull on the turn signals just a little bit and step on the brakes they light up, what do you think can be the problem?

If the brake light switch on the pedal is properly adjusted and working, the switch on the steering column that you touch must be bad.

I would recommend having the signal switch checked by an auto electric mechanic.

1998 Chevy Lumina LS Sedan
My lower brake lights weren't coming on. Mechanic relaced the multifunction arm, this did not fix issue. Different mechanic replaced a round ring-like switch located inside the steering column, that the multifunction arm plugs in to. This fixed the issue, lights are now coming on.
