Oil pressure running 130 psi temp 190 F, coolant temp 220 F. Oil pressure gage only goes to 80 psi. What is normal? What could cause high pressure?

Assumed you checked pressure with a manual gague?
If so 130 is out of control 60 is good. If 130 is for real the pressure relife valve in pump failed. Operation with that presssure will etch out bearings causing major failure.

Both the normal gauge and the computer display in my car has recently begun showing oil pressure maxed out at 130 psi. I had an oil change and the gauge and read-out remained at 130.

I'm getting ready to sell the car and don't want this to be a problem for a new owner. Is there a computer setting or a relay switch or a filter or what might need to be replaced and where would I get such a part?

Thank you for any help!

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge could be the oil pump pressure relief valve not opening or the oil pressure sending unit is out of calibration

How difficult is it to check something like this. While I value my dealer and the certified Corvette mechanic who has done all of the work on this car, I'm trying to get ready to trade the car in and am trying to do as much of these "little" things as I can myself (such as the passenger seat belt replacement) to save costs. Would the staff at say an instant oil change business be able to check this value with a mechanical gauge? Or in your opinion is this a "dealer-only" situation?

Thanks!

Its not difficult remove the oil pressure switch and hook up the gauge and read the pressure if it stays high check the oil pump if normal replace the oil pressure switch.
