1998 Chevy Corvette normal oil and engine temps

What is the normal engine temps of a 1998 corvette ls1 motor. I live in the south ( New orleans area) and just got my 1998 vette. When I was driving last night on the highway the engine temps ranged from 190- 220 but when I started driving in the city I watched it go from 220 to 250 or so. Is this normal or what, please help.

At a normal your fan should come at 220 if not have your fan checked it is a electric fan 250 is to high I have a 84 and my fan come on at 220 check it at an idle to see what temp it come at.
