I have a the RS model that will not do anything when you turn the key to start it. New starter, good battery, new alternator, new neutral safety switch. It will not click or nothing. What could it be?

THE MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do, is go to Chevy dealer with the Vehicle Identification Number, it's on the dash behind the left side of the windshield, have them make a key with your V.I.N. This will ensure you have a key that should work, until then, we cant measure the resistance on the key, or start the car.

It goes through these things prior to going to starter, you may have one that has a security module that I did not mark as most did not check the relay. It may be in the inconvenient center on left hand side of steering column. See picture.

If your key has a chip on it, then you have the security module. Take your key to the dealer and have it checked. They will probably do it for free or pretty cheap. Let us know.

Check your email for testing everything reated to the security system. Special interrogator tool needed to test for the correct resistance, or VIN taken to Chevy.

Welcome to the forum. I'd check the circuits at the starter solenoid. The wiring to the S terminal is usually a purple wire, goes hot with the key in the crank position. If it isn't hot, possibilities, ignition switch, feed to or from--- neutral switch, when it acts-up did you try cranking in neutral, -- wiring circuit. If everything is hot and all cables in good shape, I'd have to check the starter.

Your battery is close to dead if not there yet. Try jumping it or putting it on a charger. Also check and clean the battery posts. A bad connection could restrict the flow of current. If none of that works.....replace the battery.

Ok. Try following the battery cables and make sure theyre all clean and have good connections. If they all look good and are tight. You might want to have your starter checked. If you take out your starter you can check it yourself by hooking it up to the battery and see if it engages. Dont hold the power from the battery on the starter too long or youll burn it out. If the starter is good. It should spin and pop out a little. Also check all your fuses and make sure none are blown. That clicking noise is usually a sign of insufficient power supply though. So really check the battery cables. Both ends. Then either get the starter checked or check it yourself. I believe some auto parts stores do free starter tests. Let me know what happens and we'll go from there.
