Normally when I turn the key in the ignition the oil and handbrake light comes on, but now it does not and the car will not start.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

If there is no power to the vehicle, have you checked the battery and the battery connections? Anytime there is an electrical problem, I always start at the beginning, the battery. Take a look through these two links.

The next one is a load test. I need you to have a helper complete this because one person needs to watch the headlights. Note: If the headlights or nothing works, suspect a dead battery.

Start with the things I mentioned and let me know what you find. If you are certain it is not a battery issue, let me know and I will move on to more in-depth issue with you.

Take care,
Joe
