Car runs perfect, idles great, no miss, lots of power, but after you go 5 or 6 miles down the road, it just cuts off. Wont crank until it has cooled down at least 30 minutes.
Replaced fuel filter, tested pump and fuel pressure ( checked good 53 Lbs ) pulled and tested the ICM, it checked good. No codes popping up on scanner. When car shuts down, it will crank and run on carburetor cleaner, but wont run on its own until it has cooled of at least 30 minutes. Has me stumped.

Good afternoon,

Did you check the fuel pressure when it dies? It sounds like a fuel pump.

The pressure is too low anyway. The spec is at least 41 but 45 preferred.

Fuel pump pressure
With the ignition switch "on" and the fuel pump "running", the fuel pressure indicated by the fuel pressure gauge should be 284-325 kPa (41-47 psi).

I would check the pressure when it will not start.

Pump comes on when it shuts off, and think it may be too high, if it's suppose to be between 41-47 psi, it's hitting 53 psi now. Thought it may have been a fuel pump relay heating up and going bad, but after car shuts off, can still hear pump kick on when trying to start it, haven't tested psi after it shuts off, will try that. But having a feeling its electrical more than fuel. Security light stays on solid, even after reset, stays on. But thought normally it wont drive at all if passkey sensor is messed up?

You stated it was fine at 35 lbs? Where did that come from?

The pressure should never vary at all. You have it all over the place which tells me the pump is bad.

Test it when the car shuts off.

Sorry, I read it backward.

Let me know when you test it when it does not start.

Sorry took so long, had other things come up, But, when car will not start, it still shows 53 lbs of fuel pressure. I am thinking it is the pass lock sensor, but not sure and no idea how to test that.
