Camshaft position sensor

This is an ongoing project. I'll try to be short and to the point. I sent the car off to a mechanic to get valve cover gaskets and spark plugs changed. The man told me it still wasn't running properly, but I went and got it anyway as I couldn't afford to do what he was suggesting be done at the time. He said I would need a throttle body and ignition coils replacement. I said ok, but I want second opinions first before I throw more money at parts for this vehicle.

Anyway, it will start and idle (very roughly), but eventually it dies after heating up. The heat hand never reads that it is overheating. The tachometer bounces up and down at a 1000 when idling. I hooked my OBDII to it and it shows a code for Camshaft Position sensors.I forgot to write the numbers down. I'll edit with an update when I get the chance to hook it up again. My working theories in the past have been: fuel pump, catalytic converter, and ignition coil packs. I'm leaning toward ignition coil packs. Let me know what you think.
