Pumps fail on E36 cars of your age. Replace the pump and filter if suspected of mischief. Testing for pressure and delivery requires special tools. My advice is replace the pump and filter and the fuel pump relay. If you need a manual go to amazon. Com and get a Bentley manual for your car.
