I have not had any trouble with the transmission shifting on my car. I took it to the store it drove fine started it back up and drove just fine went to go through the stop sign from a stop and it would not go forward, no noises no leaks no slipping. Any solutions? Hopefully the transmission is not done. Also, it comes and goes into reduced power mode; one minute it is not there turn it off then back on and there it is again. Desperately seeking help.

Good afternoon.

Do you have reverse?

Did you check the fluid level?

Does it make any noise?

Yes, there is reverse only. No weird sounds only than it shifts hard into reverse. It is a sealed transmission so I cannot check the levels.

Okay, there is a level indicator on the passenger side on the top of the transmission for fluid level. The fact you have reverse tells me the level is good.

You have an internal failure in the transmission. It is either the forward clutch, drum or piston which controls forward gears. The transmission will have to be removed and inspected for the failure.

What is the code?

You never mentioned that in your post.

Shift solenoids are for the valve body for shifting. Engaging in gear is mechanical not electrical.

Is it a lost cause? It is my only means of transportation to work. It was a gift from my grandfather for last Christmas to me and my wife.
