My air conditioning blows warm air and I can hear the compressor operating intermittently.I checked the refrigerant with a gauge and it fluctuated from the green area to the red area.I used the gauge to release from refrigerant until it registered green.I still have warm air blowing and would like to if you can help?Roy was an absolute astonishing helper on my fcps and wonder if he can help with this problem?

Good afternoon.

Hello again,

What was the pressure number on your gauge? It would be great if you could rent or buy a cheap set of gauges to give me the high and low side readings of the Freon pressure system.

With them hooked up, and the engine off, the readings should be exactly the same and close to ambient temperature.

Hi Roy!

I used the manifold gauges and the low side reading was like fluctuated at 50 psi and the high side reading was barely 50 psi.I used the gauges to release most of the refrigerant and then refilled system with new refrigerant and got cold air.

The pressure now reads 35, 40 psi (low side) and the high side is 45"50 psi.

They should not be the same.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-a-car-air-conditioner-works

If the compressor is engaged, the compressor is bad and needs to be replaced.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/replace-air-conditioner-compressor

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/re-charge-an-air-conditioner-system

Can you check and see if the compressor is engaged?

Hi Roy! So, this is what I tried: I connected the low side hose to the low side and red hose to high pressure side I then opened the valves up on both hoses (keeping them closed at the manifold end)and started the car and air conditioning running on high and my readings are low side fluctuations at 50 PSI and high pressure stuck at 50 PSI. What am doing wrong?

Close the valves and give me the readings. By opening the valves, you are equalizing the pressures.

Sorry, close the ones on the manifold, not at the connections.

If they are that low, you have a Freon issue. The pressure should be close to ambient temperature.

Hi Roy! Sorry it took me a while to get back to you.I took your advice and the gauge finally showed psi on low is 45 and the high side is 195.I added Freon and this is what I got. Thank you so very very much. Air is much cooler. I will be logging in to ask another question for the same car. You are really helpful!

Okay, since we are done with the A/C, you need to start a brand new thread from the beginning. We can only deal with one issue per question.
