1997 Acura Integra Clutch Issue

Hi - I have been having problem shifting gears on this car for the past 2 months. It shift easily sometimes and other times it is very hard to shift gear. I dont seem to have any other problem as when ia m not changing the gears the car is driving without any issues. Over last month it had gotten had and it is making lots of noises from the engines for the past one week. I am being told that the clutch needs replacement.
