Hi there,
We have a three and half year old A250 Sport and five days ago the A/C stopped working. The A/C control panel lights and controls work but no air.
Yesterday, it started to work again and then stopped again after about an hour.
With the engine off and the A/C also off, there is no sound but when you then turn the A/C on, there is a low humming noise. Almost like the fan is jammed somehow and the motor is humming as it is not rotating. Is this possible?
Any advice please?
Thanks,
Paul

Your best option would be to take it to a dealer, Mercedes likes to make their vehicles VERY complicated and use a lot of extra sensors and controls to make them work. As such any DIY items get very complicated as well and usually require the proper scan tool to test the system. One of the reasons I won't own one made after the early 80's.

As for what could be wrong, One of the sensors could be bad, the blend door control motor could have failed, the AC compressor could be weak or failing. A good scan tool and hands on inspection is needed to determine what is the issue.
