Hello,

The check engine light will only come on if there is an issue with any of the sensors or components. It is not related to the mileage of the vehicle.

The engine light can come on for an issue with the vehicle emission system. Like a faulty oxygen sensor or even a bad gas cap.

If the engine light is illuminated, the first step would be to get it scanned and retrieve the codes.
