Hi ! Most days my car starts first time, other it takes 3 or 4 tries, this doesn't matter if its warm, cold, hasn't been used a day or two, or has been used just an hour or so prior. Its very odd. When it does start its sounds as though the first 3 or 4 seconds are fine, then it dips off as if its going to cut out before picking itself back up again then driving fine. Cannot get my head around it. Has had a new spark plug hose yesterday with no difference. Any ideas? Thanks, Paige xx

More then likely this is a failing fuel pump but it could be other things. So let's start with this guide that will take us through the common causes of this:

https://youtu.be/dCjmRL3p4Cs

Then here is a guide on how to test the fuel pressure which is what I think will show us what the issue is:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

Once we know what the pressure is we can go from there but below is the process on how to replace the pump if this proves out.

Let us know and we can go from there. Thanks
