Started starting to overheat then stalled about two miles down the road. What could be the problem?

Good morning.

When it overheated, it may have damaged the head gasket mixing coolant in the cylinder with fuel. That mixing will cause the engine to stall. As you know, we cannot burn water for power.

Also, it may have not enough compression. That would happen also from the head gasket failing.

I would start with a compression test and have a leak down test done as well to verify if the head gasket has failed.
