Cranks but no spark

Attached is a picture of the crankshaft position sensor connector (the side that leads to the PCM). You can see the blue and green wires. To test for a short between the two wires (blue and green) I set my voltage meter to continuity and touched one of the probes to the green wire pin in the connector and the other probe to the blue wire pin.

Was that correct?

So are you thinking that I need to replace the PCM, or is there anything else I should test first?

Hello and welcome back. The circuit measurements you did would indicate that. There is no actual test to do for a PCM fault unless there was a code to indicate such a failure. The measurements taken were to verify proper power and ground and input from the crank sensor and for no opens to the distributor circuit or shorts. As a technician, we are dealt that very same hand at times if it is a PCM or not because they are not cheap and we just need to go with what the tests tell us and it is a decision you need to make from here. We are here to help guide you interpret the circuits you are measuring.

Thank you for all the help you have given me. You have truly gone over and above. I will report back after I have installed a new PCM to let you know if that's what the problem was.

Thanks again!
