It starts and runs great, but after fifteen to twenty minutes of driving and you shut it off and try to restart it just cranks. After it sits for fifteen to twenty minutes it starts with no issues.

I have replaced the fuel pump twice, but still have the same issue.

Hi Tracey,

I think you are on the right path that this sounds like a fuel issue. Let's start with getting the computer scanned for any DTCs. Most part stores will do this for you if you don't have a scanner to do it yourself.

Best way to find if fuel pressure is dropping or not building is to install a fuel pressure gauge and tape it to the windshield so you can monitor the pressure then next time this happens. The regulator is integral to the pump so that eliminates the pressure regulator as well.

Also, it could be a cam sensor or wiring or even an ECM. I attached the operation of the fuel pump so if you are loosing pressure then we need to look into the cam sensor as well.

Last thing we need to look at is the relay itself. Unfortunately, these are not serviced separate. They are part of the IPDM so hopefully we can find something else when this happens.

In the event you have good fuel pressure when this is happening, then we need to look at spark. However, let's chase the fuel issue first and go from there.

Let me know if you have questions and we can go from there. Thanks
