My vehicle listed above has been in storage for the last 6 months. It would start and drive before I put it away and now it just will not start or turn over. What could be the issue?

Hello,

This sounds like a battery issue. To be sure lets run through this guide to load test the battery:

This guide can help as well:

The crankshaft sensor will not keep the engine from cranking over. That is the problem correct starter not working? Did you load test the battery?

I am looking to buy an 2005 Audi Allroad and you turn key and power comes on dash lights up, but does not turn over. I am going to look at car on Saturday the guy selling car seems to think it is the crank positioning sensor or the cam sensors trying to find out so I know what I need to do to fix.

The guy runs the Allroad in the winter time and puts it away for summer and went to start it to get it ready for this winter and has power but will not turn over. The timing chain was done at 152,000 miles.

Okay cool, when trying to crank the car over do you see the security light flashing? If so here is a guide to help reset it:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-reset-a-security-system

If not lets check for power at the starter solenoid by using this guide.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-a-starter-motor

Here is the starter wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find.

Well, I checked out the all-road with the starting problem. I load tested the battery witch is good and starter works and it's getting fuel and spark it cranks but does not start. That tells me it could be the crank positioning sensor.

Okay, so the engine is turning over, except it isn't actually starting correct. If it is getting fuel and it has spark it isn't likely the crank sensor as a bad crank sensor would shut off fuel and spark. It's possible that it is a cam sensor as that controls timing in the spark and fuel systems. However they rarely fail just setting still. I would check all of the connections for corrosion or damage first. I would also look for rodent damage. What test equipment do you have access to?
