Recently replaced water pump and now have white smoke coming from engine through tire weld when it’s idling in parked position. Also heard a knock noise that echoed when driving as if someone threw a rock at the vehicle and can’t find the source.

Does the knocking noise happen consistently? If so can you get a recording of it so that we can hear that?

As for smoke coming from the wheel well then that may be coolant that is burning off the engine from after the water pump replacement. However, if it is not going away then more then likely you have a leak still and it is burning off as it hits the hot exhaust or other parts.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

Let us know about the video and if you can inspect the water pump area for coolant leaking when you see the smoke. You should be able to see it or at least see the moisture.

Let us know what you find. Thanks
