My daughters engine won't turn off. In park. Keys are out. Still running. Help

Sounds like the throttle plate is not closing completely causing it to diesel or a defective ignition switch

Our big problem right now is that it is still running. They disconnected a battery cable at 4:00AM. Didn't help. Is there any easy way to turn it off until they can reach a mechanic tomorrow?

We finally pulled the right fuse and killed the engine.

VW "24 road assistance" is not 24 hour. There was no one to help until Monday. I will be callling customer service tomorrow. Apparentlly, Sunday is a very bad day to have car trouble.
