1997 Volkswagen Jetta Doesn't want to run in the rain

If I am driving in the rain the car will start to stutter like it wants to die but will usually stay running. If it has been sitting in the rain, like over night, it won't start at all until it dries out.

Strange problem would like to help is there anything else you could tell me about the car/problem. Does it have an aftermarket "cold air intake" by chance? Thats about the only thing I could think of that would cause that off hand

Dont even waste ur time or money. All you need is a new tune up trust I have had the same excat problem mine even shut off on me. All you need is New spark plug, New spark plug wires, cap and rotors thats what come with a complete new tune up good luck and let me know

Check the spark wire set, rotor, rotor cap, and ignition coil for cracks. Quick alternative is to spray them with WD40 and it will resist the water if there is any crack.
