1997 Volkswagen Jetta Car Will not start

My car will not start. I have batter power, but when I turn the ignition nothing happens. Now by nothing I mean I cant hear the engine crank also my car alarm goes off along with my fourways.

Just because your stereo comes on doesn't mean you have enough power to turn the engine over so, don't rule out a weak/discharged battery.
If batt checks out, ensure all connections are solid (no corrosion etc.) And that power is getting to the starter.
From this point, it's pretty much classic troubleshooting. If you are familiar, you can bypass the solenoid.
If your not, better find a reputable mechanic.

You can reactivate the system by putting
key in driver door and turning back and forth
eventually it will deactivate but this is a common
problem I wish I knew how to turn off system
permanently so not to have to deal with this
