1999 Volkswagen Beetle Stalling

Hi guys, I have a 1999 VW Bettle, 2.0 ltr, the past week or so has started to stall. I press the gas, the car doesn't move, but eventually the gas catches up and it goes - even at 60MPH, I let off, it takes one or two seconds to catch up after pressing pedal, seems to be getting worse. Any ideas? Thanks!

Is the engine light on? Have you check the fuel pressure? You changed the fuel filter?
