Car shuts off

My car starts just find but wont idle after I take my foot off the gas. It will drive, but when I slow down of come to a stop it will shut off.

This year has a carburetor. Make sure the curb idle screw is keeping the throttle plate from closing completely.

One other thought. Make sure to check for vacuum leaks at the base of the carburetor as well as intake.
