I have a vibration that I can't seem to pinpoint. It only happens when I'm accelerating and slowing down and stops at higher speeds. I have changed the front wheel bearings.

Hi,

If you only feel it at certain speeds, usually that is a balance issue or a bent rim. Have you checked those things? Also, have you checked things like tie rods, ball joints, and stabilizer links/bushings to make sure nothing is loose?

Is there anything you can do to change it once it starts? And does it do it all the time (cold, hot or doesn't matter)? Does it change at all when the brakes are applied?

Let me know.

Joe

I have balanced and rotated my tires and I've only driven the truck when it's hot and I haven't checked the tie rods, links/bushing, ball joints, stabilizer and I'm not really sure how to do that, and for the brakes I haven't really noticed it getting worse but if were to check that should I start with the rotors?

Hi,

Do you feel the vibration more in the steering wheel or throughout the body of the vehicle including the seat?

I went straight to the front end because you indicated the front wheel bearings were replaced. However, if it is more noticeable in the body, the first thing I would be checking are the universal joints on the drive shaft.

Take a look through this link:

Let me know.

I don't feel anything really in the steering wheel, but I'll do more tests tomorrow morning to make sure. After I'm through with the test I'll take down the drive shaft and check out the u joints.

So good news, I dropped the driveshaft and put a new U joint in the rear of the driveshaft and no more vibration.
