I just installed a new starter on my car listed above (C5). But it will not start, I just put 12 gallons of gas and still saying low fuel but will not turn over. I check my relays to the fuel pump and fuse. Can you please tell me what the problem is I do not want to get rid of it, but I've been putting a lot of money into my car I've had for 10 years. I replaced all the old parts with new parts by the factory OEM but I'm trying not to sell my car.

Hello,

So, when you try to start it what exactly does it do?
Do you hear clicking noises? Do all the dash lights come on?
Just so cover the basics, have you tried to jump start it?

This could be a number of items, from a bad connection to the starter, corroded battery terminal to a faulty ignition switch.
Please let me know a little more of what you have been experiencing.

The low fuel light can be due to a bad fuel sending unit, which is a float and a resistor panel attached to the fuel pump and that sends the fuel level to the gauge.

But the low fuel light is likely not related to the no start.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Hi, my name is Joe Hernandez I've been talking to one of your technicians about my 1999 corvette C5 Corvette. I just installed a new starter and everything in the engine is new as well it's all been upgraded, but back to the starter. I just installed a new starter and for some reason now it will not crank at all. I am getting fuel at the line on top of the motor. Can you please tell me or explain to me what could it be that's causing my car not to turn over at all? All I did was just installed a starter and it will not crank and I'm just ready to call it quits.

Hello, have you checked that you're getting power down to the starter motor? Theres 2 wires to the starter motor, You should get battery voltage (12volts) on both. The Red wire will have power all the time because its a direct feed from the battery and the Purple wire is the Ignition Switch power.
If you are getting 12volts on both of those wires while cranking then you just have a bad starter. The starter motors are just remanufactured starters. Sometimes we just get new parts that are bad. Its been happening alot more lately.

The car listed above is a C5. I replaced everything in the engine and replaced the starter 2 years ago and lately it's been acting up. Sometimes it hesitates to start and finally it will no longer start. I'm trying to figure out what to do. I just ordered a new starter and hope it will turn on. But if it doesn't turn on, can you please tell me where the relays are located? It's been sitting for over 4 months now because I've been busy working and now that I'm on vacation I would love to drive again.

Hello,

Can you tell me what the vehicle is currently doing?
Does it crank over and not start? or when you try to start it only make some clicking noise?

If it is cranking over but not starting, then it is not a starter issue. Likely due to not getting fuel or spark.

If you only get clicking noise, that could be the starter. As the noise is from the starter solenoid but it is not engaging the starter drive to turn the engine and start.

Here is a helpful guide on starter issues:

I have attached the starter replacement procedure below for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you.

Hi,

The most common cause of a no spark condition is a faulty crankshaft position sensor. If you have a live data scan tool, connect it and crank the engine. Do you receive an RPM signal? If you don't, suspect the sensor. Take a look through this link. It reviews common symptoms.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/symptoms-of-a-bad-crankshaft-sensor

Start with this. Also, I attached the directions below specific to your vehicle for replacement. I hope this helps.

Let me know if you have other questions and what you find.

Take care,

Joe
