Transmission not shifting properly

Gear selection has gone, a spinning noise when trying to select gears, switch engine off restart will select the first gear will pull away but spinning when trying to select next gear then seems to be in neutral. Had a rear subframe fitted about a month ago wonder if that had any sort of effect on the gear box.
