I have a 1992 Toyota P/U 4X4. I have to hold in first gear until I shift to second. Cant let off gas while in second or it will pop out of gear. Also grinds into 2nd. Have to let RPM's totally recede b4 I can put onto 3rd. Grinds into fourth. And is unusually loud in 5th. Also after releasing the clutch after start to let idle, it makes a loud noise until the clutch pedal is pushed in. Gimmie a start on what to do PLZ.

It sounds like the clutch assembly but points more to the transmission-get it checked out-

It was my brothers truck for 10+ years before me and he said he thinks it has to do with the syncro not working correctly. Is that a possibility?

Your brother could be right in the synchronizers-your option here is get another tranny @ the junk yard or you could have it rebuilt.
