Great site guys. I am going to try to install an exhaust pipe (rear pipe), which is going to be tricky given the limited space I have to work underneath. I'm thinking of buying a couple ramps. I've never installed an exhaust before, but from what I can see it looks fairly straightforward. It appears there are only two bolts to deal with.

I'm not sure whether I need to order any parts with the pipe. Is a gasket required? The bolts look very corroded and are likely to give me a helluva time to take off. What's the easiest way to remove them assuming the old pliers fail?

Thanks.

Hi jon1jt,

I'm glad you enjoy the site.

Yes, you will need a new gasket, and possibly a scraper, chisel to scrap off the old gasket on the mid-pipe flange. To remove the bolts, I would simply snap them off then hammer them out of the flange, then install new hardware (bolts, nuts, washers). I would also use a bit of anti-seize on those bolts so that they do not rust in the future.

Goodluck.

Good advice by F4I_guy.

Jack up rear put on stands and remove RR wheel to gain access to rear muffler.

You can spray PB Blaster on the bolts, but as F4I_guy said, they will probably break.

If any of the rubber isolators are broken, replace them.
