when upgrading an exhaust does the pipe size make a difference in horserower or torque?

Use the factory pipe, a pipe that is too large can affect closed loop operation, it will let the O2 sensor cool quicker.
Headers and other aftermarket parts may gain 1-2 HP, but the cost per HP would be very high.
