I have problems starting my corolla first thing in the morning. I have to pump the gas pedal continually for at times 1 to 2 minutes before it will start. Once it starts I have no problem with starting it the rest of the day. It is a carburated engine, not fuel injected. The car quit running on me about 2 weeks ago and the mechanic replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs and wiring, and distributor. It seemed to take care of the starting problem for a few days but it has starting being difficult to start in the mornings (or the first start of the day) again. I checked the choke on it and have sprayed a carburator cleaner in an effort to get the choke to work freely. This morning I was having a problem getting it started so I removed the air filter and checked the choke and it appreared to be closed. Please help me determine what the problem is with the car. Thank you.
