Engine Mechanical problem
1987 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 152k miles

The car has been in a garage for 9 years.

Car will not start.

Have replaced fuel filter, fuel pump.

Have cleaned both jets in carb and cleaned bowl of all old gas.

gas flows from pump to carburator but does not reach the piston chamber.

Where do I look for stoppage?

Spray some carb cleaner into carb. See if it fires. If no then check for spark if yes then think a rebuild is in order. The old gas drying up in small passageways gunks up and needs to be soaked to clean out.

Have sprayed heavily with cleaner. Guess rebuilding is in order.
