Some times while driving the car the car will just die while driving down the road. It always starts right back up and runs fine for days before it happens again is this a coil or distributor problem?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation.

These problems are always hard to nail down, so what I will ask you to do first is go get a scan done and report any unresolved fault codes here, thi smay give us some in-site into what is going on.

Scan shows a 401P code which is I believe the EGR Valve? Is this the right diagnosis for the code? Would this be causing the car to die like it does?

P0401, EGR fault, will not cause this problem, but best to have that seen to anyway, so when it dies does it die as if the ignition was turned off, of more a sputter as if you are loosing fuel pressure? We have to try and work out which is failing, fuel or ignition, as we don't want to be adding expensive parts just as a trial & error test.
