1996 Toyota 4Runner Key won't come out of ignition

After I place the car in park, most of the time the key won't turn all the way off or come out of the switch.

I have a 94 4Runner that wants to keep the key too. If I give the gear shift a tap towards park (I'm assuming you have an automatic also) it will make a little click at the gear shift and then the key should come right out.
